Aqueduct shutdown Sunday November 3rd through Sunday November 10th - water conservation encouraged

FPUD's wholesale supplier, the San Diego County Water Authority, is planning an aqueduct shutdown Sunday November 3rd through Sunday November 10th to finish the repairs of a leaking aqueduct line.  FPUD staff has developed strategies to mitigate the impacts of this shutdown by importing additional water from a different aqueduct line and adjusting the distribution of water from our Red Mountain Reservoir.

The shutdown is scheduled to begin Sunday, November 3rd and run until Sunday November 10th.  Any updates to this schedule will be provided on this site. Please reference the map below for a diagram of the area that may see potential impacts.

November Aqueduct Shutdown Affected Area

How will this affect my water service?

As a result of the shutdown, the water supplied to portions of the District may be limited. Starting Sunday, November 3rd, is asking customers who are located within the boundary areas on the map above to conserve water by 25% for the duration of the shutdown.

We are encouraging you to make adjustments to your irrigation schedule to accommodate this shutdown and to pre-water your groves and landscapes prior to November 3rd.

During this shutdown, please check the District website and Twitter for daily updates or visit the San Diego County Water Authority's website to speak with one of their representatives.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
