Up to $1.5 million in funding is available to assist with on-farm soil and water improvements and equipment. Improvements such as retrofitting irrigation systems, adding mulch, erosion control, and upgrading systems are included. The funding is made possible through the joint efforts of Mission Resource Conservation District, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Resource Conservation Service, Fallbrook Public Utility District and other water agencies in the county.
The grant process starts with a free irrigation efficiency evaluation by Mission Resource. Qualifying farmers may then apply for financial assistance.
For information, contact Lance Andersen, agricultural program director with Mission Resource at Lance@MissionRCD.org or 760-728-1332.
